What you’ll be doing...

The Sourcing Specialist position is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships across the enterprise to achieve the best total value.

A key aspect of the Sourcing role is building collaborative relationships with our internal business partners as well as strategic relationships with our OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).

The primary function of the Sourcing Specialist will be to actively support the Promotions Sourcing team managing Tier 2 suppliers, multiple time-sensitive requests, effectively interface with all levels of management and Legal while efficiently ensuring the sourcing process is completely consistent with Verizon policies and goals.

What you will be doing:

1. Performing analysis of financial and business data related to supplier proposals and capability assessments to support the development of Verizon supply base.
2. Ownership and management of Tier 2 supplier relationships and negotiations for various Verizon Business Units and effectively maintaining positive and ethical working relationships.
3. Creation and execution of supplier contracts for promotions undertaken with OEMs.
4. End to end ownership of OEM negotiations, from source to contract to receipt of payment.
5. Collaborate closely with key business partners to understand their priorities and challenges; assess their needs on an ongoing basis and manage their expectations.
6. Earn the business partner’s respect and serve as a Trusted Advisor.
7. Work with cross-functional teams in the business to ensure accuracy of contract and deal requirements, and transparency of engagement and communication with all stakeholders.
8. Updating and maintaining category benefit tracker, promo reporting to OEMs and other financial and executive reports.
9. Ownership and analysis of the weekly OEM promo interim reports.

You are self-driven, great at networking and an absolute team player. You are adaptable and thrive in a changing and dynamic environment and can work with diverse individuals collaboratively. You will also be an excellent relationship builder with good interpersonal skills.

You'll need to have:

1. Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
2. Commercial Experience in Telecommunications sector.
3. Strong technical skills and fluency in Excel and Google Sheets: functions/formulas, pivot tables.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

1. Relevant work experience in a Commercial, Sourcing or a Procurement Role in Telecommunications.
2. Knowledge of the legal language, terminologies related to contracting.
3. Experience in Ariba, SAP, Google Suite & Microsoft Suite applications.
4. Ability to think critically, process and analyse data. Problem Solver.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Team player but also has the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
7. Willingness to work a flexible shift to meet project completion requirements.
8. Willingness to continuously learn new tools, solutions, and emerging technologies.
9. Ability to lead meetings/conference calls and give presentations to large audiences.
10. Knowledge of data analysis, forecasting tools and ability to develop measurable insights from data.
