We are seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to support large-scale national infrastructure pro-grammes aimed at enhancing railway safety and efficiency. This long-term initiative involves the modernization and upgrade of critical rail systems in Ireland.

This role sits within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team. The role forms part of the commercial team responsible for managing contracts, cost control, project controls and procurement associated with complex railway projects. This role will require collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

- To support the project team with all commercial tasks, including preparing reports, contract ad-ministration, cost forecasting, subcontract management and assisting in the management of the project budgets.
- Assist in preparation of cost estimates. Input cost and quantity information to facilitate the pro-duction of reports as required.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Support business finance reporting including cost and revenue forecasting, to facilitate P&L Analysis.
- Assist the Commercial Manager with reviewing contractor delivery, including where appropriate, attending progress meetings.
- Support the implementation of risk management plans and monitor their effectiveness
- Help document and communicate all financial and commercial risks clearly
- Compile and maintain accurate records of all project financial documents, agreements, and communications for audit purposes
- Prepare and schedule meetings, including drafting agendas, recording minutes, and following up on action items
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and supplier's under the direction of the Commercial Manager
- Maintain effective communication channels to ensure all parties are informed of project developments

- Quantity Surveying bachelor degree or equivalent commercial management / Construction Management
- 3 years of practical experience ideally in the railway industry
- Working towards chartership with RICS / SCS / CIOB / ICES
- Knowledge of the NEC 3 and 4 suites of contracts.
- Provide input on commercial risk management, cost control, and project delivery objectives.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with project teams
- Experience in supporting large-scale projects and budgets
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel as per business and client requirements
- Experience with Thinkproject Contracts Managements software (CEMAR)
