You’ll manage technical design, contracting, delivery, commissioning, and optimisation of large-scale infrastructure projects within a multi-billion euro capital investment portfolio.**About the role:*** Lead Civil, Structural & Architectural engineering for Bord Gáis Energy’s assets and projects.* Collaborate with Asset Development teams to influence Centrica’s strategic direction.* Manage key stakeholders including contractors, regulators, TSO/DSO, and government bodies.* Oversee contracts, tender assessments, and performance management for thermal generation, solar, turbine, and battery storage projects.* Provide technical expertise and governance throughout design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.* Challenge designs to ensure the best technical and cost-effective solutions.* Coordinate technical interfaces across EPC contractors, OEMs, consultancies, and authorities.* Support due diligence on new investment opportunities.**Here's what we're looking for:*** Strong proven experience in Civil, Structural & Architectural engineering within capital asset projects (greenfield or brownfield).* Expert knowledge in large-scale infrastructure design and construction, including codes and standards (IEC, EUROCODE, RIBA).* Strong understanding of planning, statutory building requirements, groundworks, geotechnical assessments, and commercial building design.* Experience managing abnormal load assessments and cross-discipline interfaces.* Familiarity with contract types (FIDIC, NEC) and project management tools including risk analysis and controls.* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.* Able to work independently and within a matrix organisation, managing deadlines and driving results.* Experience in site feasibility assessments is a plus; knowledge of power markets is advantageous.
