Communications & Public Affairs Executive This is an exciting opportunity to develop your communications and public affairs career within one of Ireland’s most influential business groups. It will provide you with the platform to work with leaders of international and global businesses, the media, and Government.
This role is responsible for supporting the communications, public affairs, and advocacy work of AmCham. You will be working as part of both the AmCham communications team and AmCham public affairs and advocacy team. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the wider AmCham team.
The ideal candidate should have an appropriate third-level qualification and an interest in public affairs, research, and policy analysis, content creation, digital media, and storytelling.
You will have a sharp eye for detail, along with strong analysis, research, planning, organizational, and time management skills as you will be required to meet key deadlines to support content development, and white paper and consultation submission timelines.
The role is primarily based in Dublin with travel as required.
Key responsibilities:
Monitor national and EU legislation that interacts with members and the US-Ireland trade and investment relationship.
Support engagement with government bodies, stakeholders, and forums of which AmCham is a member.
Undertake research to support AmCham’s advocacy on behalf of members, supporting member taskforces and networks.
Support the drafting of white papers and consultation responses and prepare briefing documents.
Assist in the organization and running of AmCham taskforce and network meetings.
Support in the drafting of speeches, articles, Op Ed’s, statements, and press releases.
Support the delivery of AmCham’s daily and weekly communications to members.
Deliver the Chamber’s social media strategy promoting deeper engagement across channels.
Support in creating messaging and marketing for in-house events.
Tracking relevant media coverage/political activities and reporting these on a daily or weekly basis as required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have an appropriate third-level qualification.
Relevant third-level qualifications include: Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Public Relations, or related fields.
