Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Director to lead our Cost Management team in the UK.

As the Director - Cost Management, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of client development and overseeing large-scale data centre projects. This includes strategic planning, growth, team leadership, risk management, and effective communication with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data centre construction, leadership, and people management. They will also possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as a passion for building a global team and developing employees through mentoring and coaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Development: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; oversee comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage project teams; assign tasks and responsibilities; foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Oversee comprehensive project budgets; monitor project costs and implement cost control measures.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders; maintain strong relationships and provide regular updates on project progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience in data centre construction with higher levels of leadership and people management.
  • Degree or comparable experience in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or another construction-related discipline.
  • Chartered or member of a registered construction affiliate board/society (SCSI/RICS).
  • Passion for building a global team and developing employees through mentoring and coaching.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
