Key roles of this position include leading and supervising the delivery of person-centred, evidence-based nursing care.

The ideal candidate will be a registered general nurse with active registration, minimum 3 years experience in nursing management, and demonstrated knowledge of HIQA, national standards, and relevant legislation. Leadership training and/or a management qualification is desirable.

This role requires maintaining and updating required documentation, including risk registers, incident logs, and care plans.

Apart from these key responsibilities, the successful candidate will facilitate regular team meetings, clinical supervision, and reflective practice sessions.

Additionally, they will participate in recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and performance appraisals, supervising and mentoring nursing and care staff, promoting continuous professional development.

In addition to these key tasks, the post holder will assist the DON in achieving high standards of care through quality improvement initiatives.
