Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our educational team.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educator to make a real difference in the lives of students with special needs.

  1. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students.
  2. School Counselors, Psychologists, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Nurses and Audiologists work together as a team to help each student reach their full potential.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each student. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping students achieve academic success and build on their strengths and interests.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, patience, understanding, empathy and enthusiasm for teaching students with diverse learning needs. They should also have knowledge of curriculum standards, instructional strategies, assessment techniques, classroom management, and state/federal regulations governing services to children with disabilities.

Besides teaching, you will also engage with parents/guardians to ensure they stay informed about their child's progress and collaborate with colleagues to design comprehensive support plans for students with additional needs.

  • You will create a positive learning environment where students can develop academically, emotionally, socially, and physically, based on principles of respect and responsibility.
  • Responsible for assessing pupil growth and achievement, developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and implementing accommodations, modifications, or supports necessary to meet students' individual needs.
  • Attend IEP meetings and participate in collaborative problem-solving to enhance outcomes for students with high incidence and low incidence disabilities.

A bachelor's degree in education or related field, preferably with teaching certification or endorsement in special education, and at least 3 years of relevant experience working with students with diverse abilities. Possess strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.
