Occupational Therapist Opportunity

The Young Adult Mental Health Service provides specialist, recovery-focused care to young people aged 18–25 experiencing significant mental health difficulties during a critical stage in their development.

The service is expanding its multidisciplinary team and recruiting Occupational Therapists to contribute to this innovative and dynamic environment.

The role offers the opportunity to work in a youth-centred, recovery-oriented setting where occupational therapy plays a key role in supporting young people's participation, independence, and social inclusion.

  • Assess occupational performance and develop collaborative, client-centred care plans.
  • Provide interventions aimed at enhancing functional abilities, life skills, vocational potential, and community engagement.
  • Work closely with service users, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support young people in their transitions between services, education, or employment.
  • Contribute to the development of recovery-focused programmes tailored to the needs of the 18–25 age group.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Staff Grade:

  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with CORU.
  • Experience or strong interest in mental health or youth services.

Senior Grade:

  • As above, plus a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with significant time spent in mental health.
  • Experience working with adolescents or young adults.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervision, and service development capabilities.
