Job Description

As a Head Groundsperson, you will be responsible for the upkeep and presentation of expansive grounds, encompassing formal gardens, fencing, hedges, tree management, lawns, woodlands, and open spaces.

The Role:
  • Lead and manage a team of 6 garden staff, overseeing their day-to-day duties and responsibilities
  • Coordinate the overall maintenance of the grounds across a few thousand acres
  • Establish liaison with external contractors as required
  • Purchase garden machinery and supplies
The Candidate:
  • Proven experience in estate, gardens or grounds management
  • Amenity Horticulture qualification
  • Practical horticultural knowledge and a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Organised, reliable and able to prioritise work effectively across multiple areas
