Assistant Accountant Position

This is a key role within our organization, responsible for leading day-to-day operational tasks and ensuring the integrity of financial data. The successful candidate will work closely with our finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly journals and reconcile various bank, VAT, payroll, fixed-asset, grant-control & balance sheet accounts.
  • Validate grant claims; compile payment batches for approval.
  • Assist in reviewing mid-year financials and producing management accounts.
  • Maintain a fixed-asset register and track capital-project expenditure.
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to queries.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum Diploma level in ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience in reconciliations and ledger management.
  • Strong ERP finance-system literacy, preferably in Sage 50 or Oracle Netsuite, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of public-sector financial procedures.
