Account Manager Opportunity

This role involves the primary responsibility of policy maintenance and service for assigned accounts. A high level of client retention is expected through day-to-day service needs management, with a focus on strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage high-value or complex accounts requiring intricate problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborate with client advisors to review exposures and insurance programs, determine the best carrier fit, and consider coverage, protection, and cost.
  • Work with client advisors to market, quote, and prepare proposals from a risk management and insurance perspective, identifying the optimal approach to manage customer risk.
  • Provide timely service, anticipate customer needs, and respond to client inquiries.
  • Manage initial claims reports and ensure proper claim progression, meeting customer needs.
  • Monitor carrier activities to guarantee fulfillment of responsibilities to customers (policy endorsements, claims, etc.).
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive client growth and retention.
  • Enhance each customer's insurance portfolio by soliciting additional commercial and personal lines insurance where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate customer records according to procedures.
  • Keep customers informed about pending changes in the insurance world impacting their coverage.
  • Assist or complete tasks as directed by platform management.
  • Communicate professionally, accurately, and in a timely manner to clients, teams, carriers, and maintain confidentiality of client records and communication.
  • Engage with senior executives within the company and at client organizations to align on goals and strategies.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of account performance and implement improvements to optimize client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Seek referrals from clients and follow up to generate new business.
  • Refer current and prospective clients to Benefits Department and Personal Insurance for those lines of business.
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the commercial lines, lead team meetings, and initiatives.
  • Comply with agency standards, policies, and procedures.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Strong understanding of accounting or math skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal errors.
  • Ability to adapt to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with various technologies, including MS Office.
  • Knowledge of Agency Management Systems; Applied Epic a plus.
  • Independent and team-oriented work style.
  • Continuing education requirements for agent licensing and professional designations.
  • Industry information, new production, coverages, and technology knowledge to improve expertise.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years commercial insurance experience or recognized equivalent required.
  • Proven experience managing commercial accounts, building strong client relationships, and delivering tailored insurance solutions.
  • Hold and maintain appropriate state Property and Casualty Insurance License(s) or obtain within three months of hire date.
  • Initiate, obtain, and maintain advanced designations, such as CISR elite, CIC, CRM, CPCU, or others.
