Job Opportunity: Design Engineer

">About the Role

We are seeking an experienced design engineer to join our transportation team. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of four years' relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop civil engineering projects, including upgraded rail lines, light railways, motorways, public transport facilities, rural roads, cycleways, and pedestrian schemes.
  • Cover the full life cycle of transport assets, from initial investigations and modelling through construction management to maintenance of transport networks.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent).
  • At least four years' post-qualification experience in the design or construction of civil engineering projects.
  • Good knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) Publications and the National Highways Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
  • Good knowledge of the Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets (DMURS), the Traffic Signs Manual, the Cycle Design Manual, and the Traffic Management Guidelines Manual.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling).
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English.
