Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to support our overall program from a procurement perspective.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work in a self-directed manner with minimal direction and supervision, and possess strong influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Analyse build plans to make informed decisions regarding purchase order quantity, delivery date and inventory levels and place orders accordingly.
  • Negotiate optimal pricing and lead times with suppliers.
  • Ensure timely material deliveries to meet build plan requirements.
  • Book deliveries onto the purchasing system.
  • Issue material to production.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date computerised purchasing records, investigate any inventory discrepancies and resolve any invoice/delivery/receiving issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance and establish key performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with R&D on supplier/material selection.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to address material or quality issues and provide feedback to the supplier.
  • Carry out thorough supplier risk assessments to ensure continuous supply of materials.
  • Identify innovative ways to reduce costs.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a professional procurement position along with experience in material management.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.
  • Experience in the purchase and management of different material commodities.
  • Experience in procurement, supplier relations, material planning and inventory management.
  • A proficient understanding of MRP principles.
  • Familiarity with product specifications.
