Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned leader to guide our team of machine learning engineers in developing cutting-edge AI/ML solutions.

The ideal candidate will oversee the entire AI/ML feature life cycle, leveraging expertise in NLP and document understanding to drive innovation and excellence.

This role involves leading the development and deployment of production-level machine learning models that deliver personalized and automated customer experiences throughout our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of machine learning engineers in model development, deployment, testing, and evaluation of existing and emerging deep learning methods and technologies
  • Guide the team in applying the latest architectures and technologies to build innovative solutions and solve complex NLP challenges
  • Foster a deep understanding within the team of the technologies, methods, and architecture within our product development
  • Define, improve, and assist the team with existing model training, evaluation, and online inferencing processes
  • Collaborate closely with engineering partners to deploy models into production, build scalable AI systems, and monitor and improve performance metrics

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, statistics, econometrics, operations research, applied mathematics or an equal computational field
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree; 5-7 years with a Master's degree; or 5+ years with a PhD, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in leading and managing machine learning engineering teams
  • Understanding of LLM architectures, tokenization, attention mechanisms, prompt engineering, and transfer learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and deploying large scale document understanding models in production
  • Experience with pre-training and/or supervised fine-tuning of transformer-based models using large-scale datasets
  • Experience in the latest NLP techniques including LLMs and language representations
