Job Description

We are seeking a talented Business Development Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and underwriters.

Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the underwriting team to respond to broker queries in a timely and efficient manner. You will need to have commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and an ability to build durable broker/insurer relationships.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Administration of policies, including midterm alterations and renewals
  • FOLLOW UP ON DIARY ITEMS WITH BROKERS AND UNDERWRITERS
  • Responding to emails and queries from brokers/underwriters within service level agreements
  • Responding to phone queries from brokers/underwriters in a confident, friendly, and professional manner
  • Investigate and solve accounts queries
  • Process Policies, Schedules and Endorsements on both Underwriting and Broker Systems, creation / issuing relevant documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • APA status
  • Minimum 1-year personal lines experience
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel
  • Proactive, flexible, and willing to assist fellow colleagues
  • Good interpersonal, organisational, and analytical skills
  • Able to meet deadlines, pay attention to detail, and thrive in a dynamic environment
