Hotel Talent is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key leadership role, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage financial statements, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and adherence to financial regulations.
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support business growth, cost control, and overall performance improvement.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the hotel's strategic and operational goals.
  • Oversee payroll processing, labor costs, and overall cost control within the hotel, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Manage cash flow, financial risk assessment, and mitigation strategies to ensure financial stability and sustainability.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, facilitate audits, and implement necessary recommendations.
  • Ensure the effective use of financial software and automation tools, including Sage 50, to streamline financial operations.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Heads of Department, and external partners to support financial decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Irish hotel industry experience is required, with a strong understanding of financial operations within a hospitality environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, ideally within the hotel/hospitality or service industry in Ireland.
  • Strong expertise in cost control and payroll management, ensuring optimal financial performance.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 and financial software.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret financial data.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present financial data clearly to senior management and non-financial stakeholders.
