Occupational Health Specialist

The role of the Clinical Lead in Occupational Health is to provide leadership and expertise in occupational health services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full range of occupational health services, including immunisation and health surveillance programmes.

Job Description:

This is a full-time and permanent position that has arisen within a leading healthcare organisation. The Clinical Lead will work alongside the existing Clinical Director for Corporate Services to further advance the development of occupational health services and capacity within this service to provide a responsive service to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct occupational health assessments consistent with international best practice and relevant legislation.
  • Oversee the full range of occupational health services including immunisation and health surveillance programmes.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, assess and advise on workplace hazards and risks.
  • Support the Clinical Director and Assistant Director of Nursing in reviewing and developing occupational health service delivery.
  • Participate in audit, research and teaching of clinical staff.

Requirements:

  • Hold Specialist Registration in Occupational Medicine with the Irish Medical Council or demonstrate eligibility to obtain specialist registration within six months of interview.
  • Extensive professional experience in the fields of Occupational Medicine and Health.
  • Extensive experience in developing and delivering quality improvement programmes.
  • Experienced clinician with credibility and ability to command respect of all clinical and non-clinical professions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective planning and organisation skills with awareness of optimal resource management and evidence based decision making.
