Supporting Care Professionals

A healthcare assistant plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a nursing home setting. They provide essential support to residents, ensuring their dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
The healthcare assistant is responsible for assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting. They also work closely with the nursing team to prepare medications and record vital signs.
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A caring and empathetic nature, along with a commitment to delivering person-centered care, is also essential.
Previous experience in a nursing home setting is highly desirable, but not essential if you have a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care. The ability to work independently or as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing situations, is also required.
Job Requirements:
- QQI/Fetac Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Caring and empathetic nature, with a commitment to delivering person-centered care.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
