Job Title: Staff Digital IC Design Engineer

  Our client requires a Staff Digital IC Design Engineer for a position based in Cork City, Ireland.

  In this role, you will work with an experienced team and be exposed to the entire product lifecycle from definition and requirements through IC design to silicon support. This is a varied role with the opportunity to create real impact within the organization and build a promising career.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop IC architectures.
  • Design and specify system blocks including RISC/ARM processors, DSP cores and communications interfaces.
  • Specify and design digital & mixed-signal sub-systems.
  • Verify design blocks at block-level, system-level and chip-level.
  • Participate in product and technology roadmap planning and implementation.
  • Lead design reviews for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Evaluate power control schemes for real-world scenarios using FPGA prototyping.
  • Design low power ASICs – from concept through to post-layout evaluation.
  • Integrate chips, perform design synthesis, develop constraints, achieve timing closure and provide backend support.
  • Implement Design-For-Testability (DFT) including ATPG.
  • Maintain engineering documents in accordance with quality processes.
  • Track and implement design improvements.
  • Support test-engineering, product engineering and operations as well as participate in ATE data reviews, limit reviews and device yield analysis.
Requirements:
  • PhD, post-graduate or degree qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • 7+ years of digital circuit design experience in ASIC/SOC environments.
  • Knowledge of power conversion.
  • Verilog RTL coding, simulation and synthesis expertise.
  • FPGA prototyping experience.
  • Digital Signal Processor and/or computational hardware design knowledge.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience of working in wide-ranging roles and flexible environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
