Job Description">

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design standards that adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability & Quality protocols.
  • Lead a team of Design Engineers to ensure all electrical designs meet quality standards, project timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to achieve optimal design solutions.
  • Interface with project teams to guarantee site surveys and condition reports are integrated into design works.
  • Perform comprehensive electrical load balancing, medium voltage design, generator sizing for backup applications, general electrical services design, lighting and emergency lighting designs, earthing and lightning protection designs, cable sizing/cable schedules, review I/O listings, and control panel drawings schematics.
  • Conduct thorough Design Risk Reviews to ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability & Quality standards.
  • Undertake site surveys and preliminary condition assessments on existing infrastructure/assets.
  • Source packages for LV and MV works, provide technical and commercial evaluation of tender returns, and recommend procurement strategies.
  • Ensure seamless handovers to site delivery teams, including close-out of any design comments or construction-related queries.
  • Promote key themes from the company's Business Strategy, focusing on off-site manufacturing, digitalized workflows, and sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities and mitigate risks through effective design and risk mitigation measures throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Maintain awareness of local Asset Standards, Electrical Standards, and embed requirements into respective designs.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards on-site.
  • Manage assigned projects to deliver electrical and installation scopes.
  • Interact with relevant stakeholders, consultants, subcontractors, site staff, commercial resources, and the general site team involved in the project.
  • Manage site personnel and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with design documentation and contract programs.
  • Verify design, materials, and workmanship conform to specified requirements.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure works meet design outputs and are ready for commissioning.
  • Coordinate project close-out stages, including handovers to end-users.
  • Prepare and submit project handover files, including as-built drawings and control panel drawings schematics post-commissioning.
