Job Overview

At the forefront of construction, we seek a skilled quantity surveyor to join our team.

This dynamic role presents an exceptional opportunity for an individual to contribute to high-profile projects and deliver results-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial and contractual activities with precision and attention to detail.
  • Administer contracts effectively, ensuring timely execution and compliance with regulations.
  • Negotiate and secure optimal value for placements of subcontract orders.
  • Participate in project budgeting, cost planning, and feasibility studies as necessary.
  • Validate and approve sub-contractors' interim applications and final submissions, including adherence to the Construction Contracts Act.
  • Lead pre-appointment subcontractor meetings to clarify scope and appoint subcontractors in line with FMC terms and main contract flow downs to mitigate contractual risk.
  • Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for review with Commercial Managers/Project Managers/Contracts Managers and presentation to Projects Directors.
  • Maximise cash flow through prompt submission of Monthly Valuations with full and accurate supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
  • Negotiate, draft, and submit Final Accounts, including claims for loss and expense, delay and disruption, and time extensions.
  • Maintain productive relationships with Design team professionals and Client representatives throughout the project.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics or equivalent degree recognised by SCSI and/or RICS.
  • 3-5 years of quantity surveying experience.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of various forms of contract used in the construction industry (NEC, RIAI, FIDIC etc.).
  • Ability to critically evaluate and identify gaps in documentation and commercial opportunities (contracts, drawings, specs, CVRs).
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of construction processes, techniques, and systems.
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness – market, competition, value for money.
  • Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills and process-oriented with focus on results.
  • Process-oriented and strong attention to detail.
