Defence Strategist

Gartner is seeking a European-based analyst for emerging technology and data to support national defense and security strategies in advancing modernization and digital transformation.

Successful candidates will need a deep understanding of national defense and security strategies as well as enabling programs, policies, and initiatives, with emphasis on European defense, NATO, and its global allies, partners, and suppliers of technology products and services.

A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner's Research and Advisory business, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional, and/or global levels.

Using exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to mission-critical priorities.

They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner's value every day. They engage via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits, and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.

• Track European and global market trends, relevant vendors, and emerging technologies to remain ahead of the curve within changing geopolitical uncertainties and global power competition.
• Research the evolving role of data, data integration, and data analysis in support of military readiness and operational excellence for defense organizations in Europe, particularly with an eye towards NATO policy and practice.
• Write evidence-based content that is easily consumed, defensible, and actionable.
• Deliver high-quality actionable advice to an executive client audience (e.g., CIOs, program executive officers, CTOs, etc.) through a variety of form factors.
• Create and deliver presentations for webinars, executive briefings, and other client-facing events.
• Build credibility as a defense market expert representing Gartner Research and Advisory.
• Deliver outstanding sales and service support to retain and grow the Gartner business.
• Actively participate in ideation and research community discussions and collaborate effectively with colleagues across our research community.
• Identify research process improvements or develop new processes that help the team and Research & Advisory provide excellent service delivery.
• Be a mentor and a coach by supporting more junior team members.
