About the Role:

FBD is seeking a highly skilled Quality and Risk Manager to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management and quality assurance, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with Personal Lines products.
  • QA Procedures: Develop and implement effective QA procedures for Personal Lines products.
  • Audit Support: Provide expertise and insight to support the completion of audit activity.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the team and with colleagues in other parts of the organization to provide excellence in service standards to our customers.
  • Training and Development: Participate in and support projects/initiatives/testing/pilot phases as required, including engaging in team training & in designing new procedures & processes.
  • Record Keeping: Operate within your license and adhere to sign-off process for decisions outside authority levels (including updating of all relevant records).
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Culture Support: Support and encourage a high-performance culture within the team and broader business through participation in training and internal Quality Assurance activities.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellent service standards are met.
  • Workload Management: Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage own workload while responding to changing competing priorities.
  • Procedure Completion: Completing all tasks in line with Department Procedures, including those for renewal management, complaints, and error management, SLAs, CPC timelines, and agreed Personal Business Objectives.
  • Junior Support: Support junior members of the team by reviewing and signing off on their work (referrals/renewals/manual typed letters etc.).
Qualifications:
  • Professional Qualification: Achieved a professional insurance qualification qualified to a minimum level of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP).
  • Regulatory Requirements: Meet regulatory requirements as described in the Minimum Competency Code (Source: Central Bank, 2011) and Fitness and Probity Standards (Source: Central Bank, 2012).
Experience:
  • Underwriting Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as an Insurance Underwriter.
  • Performance Record: Proven track record of high-performance standards.
  • Technical Understanding: Strong technical understanding of Insurance products and Underwriting disciplines.
Competencies:
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of Personal Lines Insurance products.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Irish Personal Lines Industry.
  • Decision Making: A pragmatic decision maker with solid underwriting assessment and reasoning skills.
  • Motivation: Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and an active desire to develop knowledge and experience.
  • Quality Focus: Quality focused to provide excellent service to all customers and meet deadlines as required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated record in building working relationships within team units and with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent keyboard skills and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and an underwriting application.
  • Approach: Ambitious and energetic in their approach to their work and possess a positive outlook.
