Job Description:

We are a growing business advisory and accounting firm providing our clients services in tax, accounting, and business consulting.

The Senior Audit Associate is responsible for utilizing their educational background and communication skills to assist with the preparation of financial statements and applying basic areas of GAAP as necessary. This position will focus on Assurance.

The role involves:

  • Providing support of conclusions with authoritative literature
  • Drafting basic sets of financial statements with disclosures
  • Researching intermediate areas of accounting and forming an initial opinion on the correct treatment independently

In addition, the Senior Audit Associate will apply knowledge and understanding of professional standards, including GAAS, by:

  • Developing and applying an intermediate knowledge of auditing theory, a sense of audit skepticism, and the use of Rea audit manuals
  • Applying auditing theory to various client situations
  • Documenting in line with Rea policy, identifying deviations and notifying more senior team members to obtain appropriate approvals

Key responsibilities also include:

  • Identifying and considering all applicable policies, laws, rules, and regulations of regulators or other authoritative bodies
  • Making constructive suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Documenting and validating the operating effectiveness of the clients' internal control system

We require a strong communicator with the ability to follow instructions, work effectively in a team setting, and take appropriate actions without being asked. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field is required, with a Master's preferred. Two or more years of relevant experience is also necessary, along with Basic supervisory experience and CPA certification (if available).
