Job Summary

Mbryonics is a leading company in free space optical communications. We design and develop innovative technologies, including photonic integrated circuits and advanced optical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. We are seeking an experienced Senior Optical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and industrialising next-generation optical systems for satellite communications terminals and precision metrology equipment.
  2. Candidate will work closely with optical and mechanical engineering teams to develop bulk optical components, optical systems, and precision metrology processes.
  3. The development of novel high-precision metrology and ground support equipment is crucial for enabling volume production of high-specification optical instruments.
Requirements
  • Masters or higher (PhD) in optical design or similar, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in optical engineering, ideally in designing optical systems for coherent light, or in design of imaging systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in Zemax OpticStudio, Matlab/Simulink, or similar software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Matlab and/or Python for macro development.
  • Expertise and experience with optical design and optical metrology of rotationally-symmetric optical components is essential; additional experience with diffractive or freeform optical design is highly beneficial.
