Lead Optical Systems Engineer

Our team collaborates with senior engineers to push the boundaries of free space optical communications.

Candidates will apply CAD design, closed-form calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and prototyping to ensure optimal optical performance across various environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers on system development, leveraging expertise in CAD design and simulation tools.
  • Apply knowledge of space-grade standards to mechanical designs, ensuring compliance and producing GD&T-controlled drawings.
  • Design innovative solutions to improve existing opto-mechanical systems, utilizing engineering expertise and technical resources.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering fields.
  • B.Eng/M.Eng degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of early-stage prototyping and product development processes.
  • Experience with commercial CAD packages and simulation tools.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Familiarity with product integration and thermal stability in optical systems.
  • Knowledge of tolerance control and alignment in optical systems.
  • Experience designing and qualifying opto-mechanical hardware for space or high-reliability environments.
