Clinical Nurse Specialist - Children's Paediatric Diabetes

Galway University Hospitals is seeking a qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their Paediatric Diabetes Service. The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to children with diabetes.

The ideal candidate will have significant depth and breadth of post-registration nursing experience in the area of Children's (Diabetes) Care, as relevant to the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care to children with diabetes, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.">
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans for children with diabetes, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.">
  • Provide education and support to children with diabetes and their families, empowering them to manage their condition effectively.">
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal health outcomes.">
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to paediatric diabetes care.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Nursing or related field.">
  • Significant experience in caring for children with diabetes or similar chronic conditions.">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals.">
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.">
