Lead Software Engineering Teams

Our organization seeks a seasoned Director of Software Engineering to oversee the growth and success of our engineering teams. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional partners across product, UX/UI, and DevOps to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of multiple engineering teams focused on delivering scalable software solutions, ensuring performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Collaboration with product management, engineering, and UX/UI teams to define and deliver high-quality software solutions, aligning with business goals and technical excellence.
  • Leadership in designing and implementing robust backend services, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications and scalability.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Conducting code reviews and contributing to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
  • Participation in design discussions and providing input on design decisions, frameworks, and technology choices.
  • Ensuring architecture aligns with current and future business objectives, including security, legal requirements, time to market, and long-term support, with emphasis on adaptability and flexibility.
  • Collaboration with DevOps teams to optimize deployment processes, automation, and CI/CD pipelines using Kubernetes and GitHub Actions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Director of Software Engineering or comparable leadership role, with strong foundation in both backend and frontend development.
  • Deep expertise in backend development, including hands-on experience with microservices and serverless architectures.
  • Proficient in modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, with solid grasp of current web development practices.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design patterns, software engineering principles, and industry best practices.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and GitHub Actions for managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum methodologies and familiarity with SAFe Agile framework.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage, negotiate, and build consensus with internal and external partners.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced agile development environments and using associated tools and methodologies.
