Senior Project Manager Job Overview

This role combines strategic planning and execution to deliver complex projects from inception through completion. We are seeking a seasoned project manager with expertise in transport projects, who can lead teams and drive results.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, design, and construction phases of projects, ensuring compliance with company procedures and quality standards. Key responsibilities include establishing project objectives, developing project plans, budgeting, and scheduling.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for team members.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans.
Key Skills & Attributes:
  • Proven track record as a Project Manager in Transport or related projects.
  • Strong technical skills, preferably in design and construction.
  • Experience in delivery of sustainable transport solutions.
  • Excellent financial management and budgetary control skills.
  • Strong programming and resource management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Qualifications

A Level 8 honours degree in Civil Engineering or related field is essential. Chartered Engineer status is also required. A Project Management Qualification is a must. Ideally, a Level 9 master's degree in engineering or a cognate discipline would be advantageous.
