Senior Medical Scientist Role

The Senior Medical Scientist is a key position in the healthcare sector. We are seeking experienced professionals to fill various roles across different disciplines in hospitals nationwide.

Job Overview

This critical role requires individuals with a recognised qualification as a Medical Scientist, CORU registration or eligibility for same, and a minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory since qualifying as a medical scientist in their area of specialisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To work in a clinical diagnostic laboratory environment
  • To conduct tests and analyses to diagnose diseases
  • To maintain accurate records and reports
  • To provide training and guidance to junior staff members
Requirements:
  • A recognised qualification as a Medical Scientist with CORU registration or eligibility for same
  • An equivalent qualification at minimum Level 9 validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM)
  • A minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory since qualifying as a medical scientist in their area of specialisation
Working Conditions:
  • 35 hour working week
  • Permanent employment
  • Generous annual leave entitlements (30 days) and public holidays (10 days) per year
