Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Data Infrastructure Architect to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, governing, and evolving our enterprise data architecture underpinning our data platform.

Your primary objective will be to ensure our data infrastructure supports current and future business needs, aligns with our data strategy, and enables scalable, compliant, and performant data operations.

You will work closely with the Data Team to plan, develop, and execute a roadmap of data products focused on business value, deliver a best-in-class, user-centric, high-performing, and scalable cloud data platform using Snowflake, support the delivery of AI initiatives through the provision of high-quality data products, and enable us to become a truly data-driven business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and govern best practice data models (Operational Data Store & Data Warehouse), pipelines, data engineering standards, and security best practices within Snowflake and related technologies.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to data team members, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Develop and maintain a strong focus on data governance and compliance, ensuring we comply with relevant regulations and industry standards while maximising business utility of data.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A curious, detail-oriented approach to data and its impact in an organisation.
  • An engineering mindset with proven experience building out large scale data platforms using Snowflake or similar technologies.
  • A business focus – extensive experience designing and building dimensional data models based on Kimball Methodology principles: simplicity, flexibility, and focus on business requirements/processes.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
