We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist. This is a challenging role that requires the ability to lead the delivery of EIA reports and Appropriate Assessments for large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the EIA process for large-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality environmental impact assessment reports and appropriate assessments.
  • Provide expert environmental advice on project planning and strategy to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in planning and environmental legislation, policy decisions, and updates to national, regional, and local authority development plans to inform business strategy and decision-making.
  • Assist the stakeholder engagement team in developing effective project plans for managing communications and consultation with local communities and stakeholders.
  • Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist the procurement team in associated procurement processes.
  • Evaluate the environmental impact of proposed developments and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in leading the preparation of EIARs and AA/NIS documentation for large-scale projects.
  • Expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams on EIA projects and delivering EIS/EIAR documentation.
  • Understanding of EIA processes, Irish planning policy, and legislation.
