Production Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of shift managers and production staff to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and engage employees in building a safe work environment.
  • Oversee the manufacture of devices that meet all quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan resources to optimize the flow of units through the manufacturing process and meet production schedules.
  • Monitor and optimize stock levels of work-in-progress (WIP) in production areas.
  • Ensure production areas comply with environmental standards.
  • Play a lead role in internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Develop team members through coaching, delegation, performance reviews, and developmental assignments.
  • Collaborate with continuous improvement teams to identify and execute opportunities to improve work processes and methods, increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Lead weekly business operations summary (BOS) processes to ensure line productivity and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) improvements are delivered.

Requirements:

  • Third-level degree qualification in manufacturing, engineering, or science, combined with relevant experience in high-volume manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production supervisory or management role in manufacturing.
  • Thorough knowledge of production management principles.
  • Preferably 5 years' experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of budgetary control procedures.
  • Able to lead, work as part of a team, and work independently as required.
  • Proactive individual who anticipates potential problems and takes initiative.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and improvement concepts associated with high-volume, technically complex, regulated manufacturing units.
