This is an exciting and valuable role within a multidisciplinary service, providing invaluable assessments to families.

Diagnostic Therapist Role

The role involves conducting comprehensive diagnostic assessments of individuals with suspected Neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism and specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessments using established diagnostic tools.

These assessments are undertaken on behalf of the relevant authorities.

The clinician is responsible for writing up assessment reports in a timely and professional manner as well as providing appropriate recommendations and interventions.

Additionally, the clinician may be involved in supervising and supporting junior staff members depending on experience.

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent CORU registered qualification.
  • Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland and commute to Swords/ North Dublin.
  • Experience in conducting diagnostic Neurodevelopmental/Specialist developmental assessments with children.
  • CORU registration.
  • Experience working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism and learning disability.
  • ADOS-2/ADI-R trained.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in report writing and record keeping.
