Senior Ecologist Role

We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join our Biodiversity and Ecosystems Global Service Line. As a key member of the team, you will work on various projects, including transport infrastructure, commercial and residential development, and renewable energy initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage small to medium scale projects and contribute to input on large scale projects such as transport infrastructure projects under the guidance of ecology team leads
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Ramboll project managers, clients, partner organisations, and sub-consultants
  • Plan, undertake, and report on ecological surveys or clerk of work programmes, including habitat and species surveys
  • Deliver ecological mitigation design and delivery
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and planning authorities
  • Contribute to technical work on complex projects
  • Prepare fee proposals and support client relationship management
  • Supervise and manage junior ecologists, contributing to resource planning
Additional Responsibilities at Principal Grade:
  • Effectively plan, manage, and mentor an ecology team within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment
  • Review reports including EIA chapters, HRA, precautionary methods of work, and species licence applications
  • Deliver complex projects on time and manage them within budget
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship management
