Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review engineering designs, technical documents, and calculations
  • Supervise the production of design documents for clients
  • Coordinate teams of engineers and technicians and develop skills of less experienced engineers
  • Support junior engineers with their progression to Chartered status
  • Organize projects from feasibility to detailed design, including site supervision where required
  • Oversee conceptual designs
  • Develop project controls and monitor progress against programmes

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who wants to take on new challenges and advance their career. As a successful candidate, you will have:

  • MSc or MEng in Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering (with significant geotechnical ability and experience)
  • Chartered status, with CGeol or CEng (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a design environment, with some site experience preferred
  • Advanced numerical modelling skills using 3D Plaxis or similar
  • Good knowledge of geotechnical software, including Geo Studio suite (Slope/W, Seep/W) or similar
  • Broad capability in geotechnical design, including tunnels and underground excavations, earthworks, retaining structures, foundations, soil mechanics, and soil structure interaction
