Job Overview

Avolon is appointing a VP New Aircraft to join our Technical team in Dublin. The successful candidate will report to the SVP, Technical Transactions Europe, Africa, US and New Aircraft.

The role is responsible for managing the design, build and delivery process of new aircraft orderbooks. Key responsibilities include project managing new aircraft delivery streams, representing Avolon on-site at Airframe OEMs for customer meetings and aircraft presentations, and liaising with internal deal teams to ensure timely deliveries.

Key qualifications include strong interpersonal skills, significant experience within technical functions of an aircraft lessor or airline, and good experience of working with Airbus and Boeing to define aircraft configurations.

Requirements
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to engage at all levels within airlines and engine/airframe manufacturers.
  • Technical Expertise: Significant and recent experience within the technical function of an aircraft lessor or airline.
  • Collaboration: Ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals from various disciplines.
  • Commercial Acumen: Good experience of working with both Airbus and Boeing to define aircraft configurations and negotiate commercial agreements.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Degree: Aeronautical Engineering or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licence.
  • Experience: Previous experience of working with Airframe OEMs in aircraft specification and configuration, and aircraft delivery management.
  • Leadership: Proven aircraft leasing or airline experience, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Negotiation: Strong commercial negotiation experience with Airframe and Engine OEMs and equipment suppliers.
