Project Manager Job Description

Airborne aircraft delivery management is crucial for any aviation finance company.

The role involves project managing Avolon's new aircraft delivery stream with respect to aircraft deliveries on-site at the Airframe Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to ensure an on-time delivery to the customer. This includes representing Avolon on-site at the Airframe OEM for customer meetings, aircraft presentations, and aircraft deliveries.

Liaising with internal Deal Teams with delivery updates/delays to ensure all parties are ready to execute the delivery process on-time. This also involves liaising with airlines, Airframe OEMs and Equipment OEMs to project manage all specification activity in line with the key milestone dates in the manufacture and delivery process of Avolon forward order aircraft.

  • Ensure aircraft deliveries are made on-time and in the condition required by the contract.
  • Manage issues directly with the Airframe OEM and escalate as needed to ensure delivery milestones are met.
Requirements

An individual with strong interpersonal skills and experience working with airlines and engine/airframe manufacturers is required.

  • Previous experience within the technical function of an aircraft lessor or airline is essential.
  • Good experience of working with both Airbus and Boeing to define aircraft configurations and ensure that aircraft are delivered on time and in the condition required by the contract.
Essential Skills

The following skills are required for this position:

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licence.
  • Previous experience of working with the Airframe OEM's in aircraft specification and configuration, and aircraft delivery management.
  • Proven aircraft leasing or airline experience, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Strong commercial negotiation experience with Airframe and Engine OEM's and equipment suppliers.
