Key Business Leadership Position

This is a critical senior leadership role that requires strategic leadership skills, delivery focus and effective relationship management.

  • Supporting the Chief Executive through a combination of business acumen, service delivery and stakeholder engagement; in this context management of key stakeholders including public bodies and service providers is essential.
  • Leading the business services function - this entails delivering Finance, Corporate Affairs, Information Management and Technology, and Human Resource services.
  • Contributing to strategic outcomes by working closely with members of the senior leadership team to deliver on strategy.
  • Ensuring the provision of excellent services to the Board through its secretariat and other supports consistent with good governance practices.

As key elements of this role concern relationship management, business services delivery, delivering on strategy and board support. Further details on sub elements within each of these headings are set out below.

Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification at level 8 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications.
  • At least 7 years' experience in a senior leadership role, ideally in a complex environment, managing multiple projects with a range of stakeholders, with a proven track record of success linking service delivery to strategic objectives.
  • Have a proven ability to exercise sound judgement, analytical thinking, and problem solving/decision making skills.
  • Have strong leadership qualities and a proven ability to build and develop high performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with proven ability to influence and work effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders in a constructive manner.
