Job Title

An accomplished accountant is sought to cover a maternity contract. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly accounts from initiation to sign off, focusing on profit & loss, balance sheet reports.
  • Preparing monthly accruals/prepayment/stock journals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconciling balance sheets and conducting nominal analysis, highlighting key financial trends.
  • Developing quarterly accounting information, including cost centre/departments reporting.
  • Monitoring adherence to corporate policies regarding cash management.
  • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations from various depots.
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns and other statutory documents.
  • Compiling monthly cash reports and preparing budgets/forecasts.
  • Working individually and collaboratively to enhance efficiency in finance-related IT systems, leveraging ERP and consolidation tools.
Requirements
  1. A qualified accountant with 3 years or more experience.
  2. Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, with advanced analytical and communication skills.
  3. Ability to organize work effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Ambitious and driven, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  6. Own transport.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills, be proficient in using relevant software, and demonstrate a proactive approach to meeting challenges.
