**Job Overview**

Hunter Savage seeks a highly skilled Group Health and Safety Compliance Manager to join our team. This exciting opportunity exists for an experienced professional in health and safety to oversee the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive health and safety programs across our site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. This involves managing contractor safety, conducting audits, risk assessments, training, and reporting on safety performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety Coordination: Assist in coordinating health and safety activities across the site, ensuring smooth execution of safety procedures and policies.
  • Return to Work (RTW) Management: Manage the return-to-work process for employees post-work-related absence, ensuring proper documentation and safe reintegration.
  • Risk Assessments and Mitigation: Conduct regular and thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards, implement corrective actions, and assess new equipment and processes for safety risks.
  • SOP Development: Write, review, and update Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with current safety standards and best practices.
  • Training Management: Maintain and oversee training trackers to ensure all employees are up to date with necessary health and safety training programs.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Conduct audits and inspections of the workplace to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Contractor Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for contractors on-site, ensuring they follow all safety protocols and receive appropriate documentation and orientation.

**Key Skills and Qualifications**

  • Health and Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, FMCG safety standards, and best practices in risk management.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Expertise in identifying hazards and proactively taking measures to mitigate them.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively conveying safety policies and procedures.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to make quick decisions during safety incidents and provide practical solutions to minimize risks.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot safety issues during risk assessments, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Strong leadership skills to guide safety initiatives and work cross-functionally with various teams.

**Experience and Qualifications**

  • Experience: Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the FMCG or manufacturing industry, with a focus on managing health and safety compliance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent health and safety certifications are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with health and safety software, training systems, and Microsoft Office.
