Nursing Leader

Our organization is seeking a visionary leader to fill the role of Director of Nursing. Located in Co Monaghan, this full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity for experienced DONs and ADONs to advance their careers.

The nursing home is part of a leading healthcare group with multiple locations across Ireland.

This challenging yet rewarding role requires the successful candidate to drive excellence in person-centered care, clinical oversight, and continuous innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and management of daily clinical operations with empathy and professionalism.

• Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and safety for both residents and staff.

• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with HIQA regulations.

• Support staff development through mentoring and training programs.

• Oversee risk management, safeguarding, and the implementation of best practices in elder care.

Essential Qualifications:

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI registration.

• Management qualification in health or a related field.

• Evidence of continuous professional development.

• Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience in Older Person Care within the past 6 years.

• At least 3 years of management experience in health or social care.

• Post-registration management qualification.

• Knowledge of Health Act, HIQA guidelines, NMBI Scope of Practice & Code of Professional Conduct and importance of Safeguarding / dementia care

Desirable:

• Postgraduate diploma in Gerontology.

• Additional management qualifications.

• Strong IT and digital skills.

• Awareness of international best practices in elder care.
