This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing physical and emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities.
Our service is home to an individual who requires support with daily activities, personal care, medication, finances, and communication difficulties. You will play a vital role in helping them achieve their goals and aspirations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with our residents. You will also be flexible and able to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
We are looking for someone with a positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities. You should enjoy interactivity with the people we support and be comfortable with 1on1 support.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Relationship Building: Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
- Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
- Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
- Must hold a full manual driving licence.
In addition to the above qualifications, you will also need to be comfortable with cooking to a basic standard as you will be involved in meal preparation for our residents.
