Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct access to the local community, conducting initial and holistic social assessments, and developing intervention strategies to meet the needs of children, youth, families, and groups.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough initial assessments of service users' needs, identifying areas requiring support and intervention.
• Develop and implement effective intervention strategies in partnership with service users, promoting empowerment, independence, and self-reliance.
• Provide supportive counseling, emotional, and practical support to service users and their families, enhancing their quality of life and well-being.
• Collaborate with other social work services and networks to develop referral procedures and ensure seamless delivery of care.
• Manage and prioritize a caseload, ensuring timely interventions and effective outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:
• CORU-registered Social Worker qualification
• Experience in child protection, children in care, family intervention, or similar fields is desirable
• Strong knowledge of Children First, HSE Safeguarding Policy, and Child Welfare Legislation
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
