Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Director of Nursing. This position involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing and social care services.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Implement quality of care systems to meet individual resident needs.
  • Ensure clinical practice meets regulations and standards.
  • Monitor clinical practice through individualised plans of care for each resident.
  • Conduct internal audits and follow up on results.
  • Provide initial induction and ongoing training for staff.
  • Encourage innovative practice and ensure adherence to company and HIQA standards.
Financial Administration
  • Maintain administrative procedures in the absence of the administrator.
  • Monitor administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of residents' fee income, funding sources, fee arrears, personal allowances, and financial records.
  • Manage community units budgets effectively.
  • Have an understanding of legislative requirements regarding financially impaired people.
General Management
  • Hold regular communication meetings with all clinical staff.
  • Establish good relationships with external agencies to bring the local community into the home.
  • Liaise with marketing teams to increase visibility in the local community.
  • Document and investigate complaints, ensuring a satisfactory outcome.
Environment
  • Implement company health and safety policies to safeguard staff, residents, and others.
  • Regularly train staff on fire evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure catering meets HACCP standards and is of high quality and variety.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in the home.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs.
Human Resources Function
  • Participate in staff selection and interviewing processes.
  • Conduct regular training needs analysis.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with current employment legislation.
  • Verify that registered nurses employed in the home are on the live register.
