Process Development Scientist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Development Scientist to join our team. This role will involve the development and optimization of protein manufacturing processes, leveraging expertise in cell culture sciences and bioprocess engineering.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing scientific and technical guidance on laboratory-based investigations, process design, and experimental studies. They will also collaborate closely with analytical scientists to characterize proteins during process development studies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biotechnology, chemistry, or chemical engineering, with a minimum of 4 years of directly relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. They will possess excellent communication skills, a flair for laboratory experimentation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The Process Development Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize processes used in the research and development of new drugs. They will be responsible for designing and executing experimental programs, troubleshooting manufacturing-scale process problems, and providing technical support to Drug Substance Technical Services as needed.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize robust cell culture processes via experimental investigations at various scales.
  • Operate mammalian cell culture processes within a Pilot Lab according to pre-defined procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with analytical scientists who work on the characterization of proteins during process development studies.
  • Provide technical guidance on laboratory investigational studies, process design, and new technology development.
  • Provide technical support to Drug Substance Technical Services when required.
Requirements
  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • BEng / BSc in Biotechnology / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering or other related disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of directly relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • MSc / MEng in Biotechnology / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering or other related disciplines with a minimum of 3 years of directly relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • PhD in Biotechnology / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering or other related disciplines with a minimum of 1 year of directly relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in designing and executing components of experimental programs in the laboratory.
  • Familiar with problem-solving, risk analysis, and/or statistical tools.
