We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

  1. Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance policies, including renewals and new business.

  2. Analyze information on new and renewal business to determine acceptance, pricing, and risk mitigation strategies.

  3. Review market conditions to inform coverage decisions and identify opportunities for growth.

  4. Apply knowledge of insurance products, forms, endorsements, and deductibles to mitigate risk.

  5. Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders, including supporting documentation.

  6. Develop strong relationships with key wholesalers and agents to provide underwriting guidance and support.

  7. Identify opportunities for account rounding and product expansion.

  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective rate and pricing strategies.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in Commercial P&C underwriting is required.
  • CPCU, CIC, or other applicable designations are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail are required.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders is necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time exempt position with a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision coverage, short-term disability insurance, long-term disability insurance, AD&D insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and other lifestyle and family-friendly benefits.
