Expert Paper and Book Conservator Wanted

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Conservator to join our Preservation and Conservation Department at the Trinity College Library.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conserving and documenting papers, letters, notebooks, diaries, and photographs in the Michael Davitt Archive.
- Conservation Treatment: The post-holder will be responsible for conserving and documenting archive materials.
- Workflow Development: They will develop and prioritize the conservation workflow of the project in collaboration with the Chief Conservator and Conservation Project Manager and the rest of the Michael Davitt project team.
- Collaboration: The post-holder will work closely with the associated subject specialist and photographer.
The post is an exciting opportunity for a professional with expertise in paper and book conservation to work on a specific project aimed at digitizing library collection material and making it available.
The post-holder will be encouraged to develop their professional career through research and publication and will be expected to work both independently and within a team. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis, as the role is tied to specific project activities and deliverables that are expected to be completed within a defined period.
About the ProjectThe Davitt Project aims to digitize library collection material and make it available to the public.
The post is to carry out the specialist conservation of agreed material to enable digitization and general support of the project.
