Enterprise Data Architect

The enterprise data architect will play a pivotal role in designing, governing and evolving the cloud-based data architecture underpinning ILIM's data platform. The chosen technology stack includes Microsoft ADF, Snowflake and Power BI. This is a new role, created to support the implementation of the ILIM Data Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver a best-in-class cloud data platform using Snowflake, supporting business needs and driving strategic growth.
- Design and govern best practice data models, pipelines, data engineering standards and security best practices within Snowflake and related technologies.
- Collaborate with the Data Team to plan, develop and execute a roadmap of data products focused on delivering business value.
- Support the delivery of AI initiatives through the provision of high-quality data products and guidance to stakeholders on the capabilities available in Snowflake.
- Enable organisations to become truly data-driven by leveraging insights to inform decision-making, drive growth and improve performance.
- A curious, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about data and its impact on organisational success.
- Proven experience building out large-scale data platforms using Snowflake or similar, with extensive knowledge of best practices for data pipelines, deployment, orchestration, cost and performance optimisation.
- Extensive experience designing and building dimensional data models based on Kimball Methodology principles: simplicity, flexibility and focus on business requirements.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security and compliance in regulated environments.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling the effective explanation of complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of successful project delivery.
