We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead our commercial interface management activities, ensuring cohesive project execution and achievement of shared objectives.
This role will involve managing and optimising the commercial interface between delivery operations and business stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for all commercial matters not directly related to the principal construction contracts.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record in developing and implementing commercial strategies, managing contracts, and negotiating agreements. They will also have experience in managing delivery processes, logistics, or supply chain operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of delivery commercial Interface Managers, overseeing the completion of projects, and implementing effective and rigorous project evaluation methodologies to inform future planning.
You will also be required to negotiate, execute, and manage delivery-related relevant contracts and agreements, manage relevant budgets and financial forecasts related to delivery operations, and prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance to senior management.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to enhance delivery operations and achieve business objectives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for commercial matters between delivery teams and business stakeholders.
- Lead a team of delivery commercial Interface Managers.
- Monitor the completion of projects and implement effective and rigorous project evaluation methodologies to inform future planning.
- Oversee the negotiation, execution, and management of delivery-related relevant contracts and agreements.
- Manage relevant budgets and financial forecasts related to delivery operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance to senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 15+ years'commercial and contract management experience within construction / civil engineering, with 3+ yearsin a similarleadership role.
- Experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies, managing contracts, and negotiating agreements.
- Experience in managing delivery processes, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Strong project management skills to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of the project.
- Ability to effectively engage with and manage relationships with various stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with interfaces.
- Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to keep the project on track.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and relate to individuals and groups – both technical and non-technical.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.
- Minimum level 8 degree in engineering, construction or a related subject matter or equivalent experience.
